    Description

Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Souvenir Card B101B, the Cherry Blossom print created for the 125th Anniversary of the Bureau which was then overprinted for the American Numismatic Association Midwinter Convention ANA Midwinter 1987.
The card shows a new vignette of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing building, as seen from across the Tidal Basin in front of the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C.  The cherry trees along the walk surrounding the water in bloom, and the result is a very attractive image.
Thomas Hipschen did the engraving on this piece, which is printed in a combination of offset and intaglio.
Only one thousand of the Cherry Blossom cards were overprinted with gold embossing for the ANA MW (or ANA MY for Midyear) show.  BEP figures indicate that 887 were sold.
The embossing specific to this show appears in the second scan.
The card is in mint condition.
