    Description

International Plate Printers, Die Stampers and Engravers Union (IPPDS&EU) Souvenir Card 1989H depicting plate printer Harry Beech.
The illustration on the engraved card is based on a 1642 woodcut by Abraham Bosse.  The head of the original printer has been replaced by the head of BEP Printer Beech.  The card also includes the union "bug" or logo.
The engraving was originally created for the Union's 1988 Convention book by Bureau engraver Thomas Hipschen.  This reprint was produced in a green shade to distinguish it from the maroon version in the book.  The engraver's signature appears in the lower right of the intaglio print, below the printer's foot (may not be visible in scan).
The lot includes a flyer with descriptive text and a photocopy of the original Bosse engraving.
The card is in mint condition.
