    Description

Limited to a printing of 1,000 books, this early out-of-print booklet tells a fascinating story of Louis Comfort Tiffany, the Tiffany Studios, and the advent of  “Favrile Glass.”
AN APPRECIATION OF TIFFANY FAVRILE GLASS
by Henry Winter, privately published, MA, ca. 1964 (pre copyright issue).
“Henry C. Winter knew Louis Comfort Tiffany, and his brother was a longtime assistant to LCT, and a colorist at the Tiffany Studios.  Henry Winter wrote four books about Tiffany and his work- the first was [this] paperback in  appreciation of Winter's brother, the second was the ‘Dynasty,’ followed shortly by the ‘Final Dynasty’ and then by the ‘Commemorative Edition’. All were self-published.”  This rare book is a collector’s item in itself and an invaluable reference for the collector, dealer, curator, or historian of Tiffany art glass.  This book does not contain pictures, but is rather a treatise on the development of Tiffany’s famous Favrile art glass.  It is a concise, yet most informative booklet.
5.5” x 8.5” softback in very good condition.  28 pages.
