TIFFANY STUDIOS, GRAPEVINE 4 TIER 3 COMPARTMENT LETTER RACK, GREEN GLASS, PATINA

For auction is a very nice desk set item made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The pattern is the ever popular and highly collected "Grapevine" desk set pattern. This is known as the 4 tier 3 compartment letter rack. It is done in the acid etched Grapevine overlay pattern in the Tiffany Studios fancy goods catalog. The letter rack is rather large as it stands 8 11/16" tall, 12 1/2" wide and 3 9/16" deep.
This letter rack displays a beautiful acid etched pattern of grapes, leaves and stems. This has been a popular pattern among LC Tiffany Studios collectors for years. It has a nice Verdi green and brown patina applied to all the metal on the letter rack including inside the compartments. This letter rack has the deep green white Favrile opalescent stained glass and is considered the most desired in the desk set pieces. There are three compartments for letter storage with this piece. The letters cannot be more than 12" wide as this is the inside fit for all compartments.
This letter rack is considered to be in excellent as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or to any of the glass or frame. This letter holder has a wonderful Verdi green/brown patina that shows minimal wear. There is the typical normal age wear spots on the underside bottom exposing some of the brass color. This letter rack is signed on the bottom with the micro "Tiffany Stvdios New York" impressed signature mark. This mark with the "v" in "Studios" denotes this as an early piece. There is also NO pattern number as well.
Truly a quality find in excellent condition. Tiffany started numbering his desk set pieces usually with a 3 digit number after 1902. Since this one does not have one it pre-dates this time frame. This letter rack is very early based on its mark and was made circa 1895-1898. I'm positive the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. The quality and condition of this one would be hard to beat!!

I want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July of this year 2020.
I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments
. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the

unless it is paid for.
They are also n
ow charging all sellers a commission of 11.5% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 11.5%. This is an increase of 8.6% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 11.5% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges.
If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy.
